Op Shop Till Ya Drop

A couple of weeks back while wandering through the local Flea Market, I saw a "gadget" that looked like a high end RF Modulator. I didn't buy it at the time (It was only $10) and regretted it. Went back today for a quick look and it was still there. So this time I lost no oppurtunities snarfing it.

It has an integrated transformer (so no need for wall wats) and had "F" connectors rather than the bog standard connectors. (These are the fancy "screw - on" ones as used by Foxtel and other cable/satellite services)

As I had chosen to use RG6/F all the way through the house, this suited me to a tee.

So with a bit of fiddling I have it set up and tested. It works! Best ten dollars I have spent in ages. What it means is, wil at bit of fiddling, I can play video/audio from my computer across the room to my TV. Since my PC is the gruntiest in the house, I'm now going to start looking at what I can use all that extra processor time for, in terms of smoothing/enhancing the output of my video.

It also means I can have Winamp visualisations playing on my TV during parties.

Yay! I love Op Shopping.
