Karri Valley Resort
We went down to the Karri Valley Resort on the weekend. We had a dinner appointment on Friday night so we left for Karri Valley at about 9:30. We got in at 2:00am In this time we had an engine develop a disturbing whine in the middle of nowhere. We played "Dodge the Kangaroo" And go adrenaline spikes off that incedent I can tell you. Finally got there and, of course, it's all locked up and dark. We have a look at the map and an employee walks past, spots us, opens the reception door, and lets us in! Wow. We get keys and directions and head off for our chalet, where the third person in our party is probably fast asleep. Except she isn't. Reception has phoned forward to let her know we are on our way.
We collapse into bed.
The next day, the girls go off fishing while I lay around reading a Paul Kidd novel. Much relaxing was done. I then got conned into sitting with the girls while they fish. About this point a wedding party decides we'd make great "colour" for their wedding photos. The night ends with no fish, a yummy meal and much wine.
We collapse into bed.
Sunday. I get up early and go for a bit of a walk. Around the lake. It takes 50 minutes. All this going to the Gym I have been doing has payed off and I feel great! Specially since I deliberately walked it fast. During this time a variety of birds come up for a "quick chat". ("What do you want?" "Chirp chirp chirpy chirp" "Shouldn't you be scared of me?" "Chirpy chirpy chirp") We go to the restaraunt and eat lunch. We sit around in a heap. We go for a walk. Birds come and steal our chocolate. ("Hello Mr Birdy, aren't you pretty?" "Chirpy chirpy CHOMP" "Hey! That's MY chocolate you monster! Give it back!") We eat dinner at the restaraunt.
We collapse into bed.
We pack the car and drive home. We stop for lunch in Harvey. We get home. I relax for a bit and then head off to the Gym for my new circuit. I come home barely able to stand. It would be a great job for a Sadist, working in a Gym. You get to make people torture themselves!
I then spend the evening battling my PC as it decides that Direct X is not for me. After much wailing and gnashing of teeth I fix the problem. Somewhere doen the track a session of netmeeting didn't finish cleanly and had locked access to the hardware. This is odd, as since this I have:
- Upgraded the video driver
- Reinstalled Direct X
- Reinstalled Media Player
- UNInstalled the video driver, and then REInstalled it.
- Cursed.
Merely starting up netmeeting and exiting it clears the fault...
GhGhGhGhhhhhhh.
We collapse into bed.
