Roleplaying at last!
Went out and did the first RPG stuff I have done in something like 5 years. Also the first time in even longer I was the player. Twas fun! In this time period everyone has adopted a new system that I haven't played, so I am now learning the fabled D20 system.
I personally think it has the same limitations of all these kind of systems, that is, the random factor in creation. I have a soft spot for things like GURPS and Risus
They both have a formulaic approach to creation, which matches my GM style. Sez was quite surprised that not all GMs insist that you write down your character name, background and motives before they are allowed to touch the game books.
For me, this eliminates many peoples BAD habits with roleplaying. It also tends to keep the MIN/MAXers at bay, or at least headed in the right direction, as they tend to MIN/MAX towards the concept of the character they have.
I really must pull my finger out and get cracking on GURPS CyberPerth again someday.

A blog to relieve frustrations, stresses and other Angst (tm) Oh and to rant. Rant quite a bit in fact. Okay, a lot.
