So Long Johnny

Johnny Cash, the original Man in Black has died from Diabetes related complications at 71.

I had the privelege a few years back of attending a performance of Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson which was an amazing show. This hard edge of Country regularly crosses over into other genres.

His recent cover version on Nine Inch Nail's "Hurt" is simply incredible. It is more dark and brooding than the original, and has an amazing video clip to match.

Sigh! One of only two Country singers that I know, that was adored by many many Goths! (The other was Kris Kristofferson)

Todays Thought: The Country/Goth movement did actually exist! Another example other than Cash and Kristtofferson was the Goth/Country/Metal/Pagan band "The Fields of the Nephilim". Their lead Singer, Carl McCoy appeared in his stage costume in the movie Hardware. He was the wasteland warrior that found Mark 13.
